Provided second level technical support for field technicians working on Long-Haul Dense Wave Division Multiplexing ( DWDM ) Synchronous Optical Network ( SONET ) transport systems. Coordinated field troubleshooting with system design engineers, and vendor technical assistance when necessary. I had the authority to spend dollars for vendor technical assistance.
Led team of operations personnel during new OC192 fiber optics network implementation. Trouble shot complex network provisioning and operational problems. Managed field personnel and equipment requirements. Scheduled project operations and created reports for upper management using MS Project. Configured "All Optical" Dense Wave Division Multiplexing ( DWDM ) switches. Controlled XML master file of network configuration, and developed network security requirements.

Developed and implemented emergency procedures for fiber optics outages. Re-routed OC192, OC48, OC12 data traffic during "fiber cut" emergencies to recover service. Resulted in company savings in hundreds of thousands of dollars for each outage.
Created desktop database application with MS Excel for quick look survey of Fiber Optic traffic flow during emergencies. This database is still used by field technician.
Performed TCP/IP Telnet troubleshooting, maintenance, and provisioning, on Long-Haul DWDM Synchronous Optical Network ( SONET ) field equipment.
